Women in Air & Space: Pioneering Women in Early Flight

Round out Women’s History Month at Marshall District Library & travel back in time with presenters from the Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Center as they share riveting stories of three trailblazing women who defied societal norms to make their mark in early aviation. Katharine Wright, a driving force behind the success of her famous brothers, Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman with a pilot’s license, & Katherine Chung, a pioneering Asian American aviator, each overcame unique challenges to contribute significantly to the history of flight. This program explores their indomitable spirits & groundbreaking achievements, shedding light on their enduring legacies that expanded opportunities for women in aviation & left an indelible mark on aviation history.

Registration required; geared towards ages 18+, but is open to anyone teen & up if interested.
