We the undersigned, two of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Burlington Calhoun County, hereby certify that at a meeting notified according to law for the purpose of filling the vacancies in the board of trustees of the first Methodist Episcopal Church of Burlington held at the church July 30th 1855. J.E. Smith preacher in charge of the circuit presided and Theron Hamilton a Trustee of said church acted as clerk.

When upon motion it was resolved to elect four men trustees in addition to the one which remained of the old board. Theron Hamilton.

On motion Theron Hamilton and Andrew Guyer were appointed tellers.

The meeting thereupon proceeded to ballot four trustees where in counting the ballots it was found that Andrew Guyer, Anson _ Wethey, Norman J. Strong & Stephen _ Ladow were unanimously chosen trustees of the first Methodist Episcopal church of Burlington.

Whereupon the tellers proceeded to determine by lot the terms of the five trustees. Anson _ Wethey drew for one year, Andrew Guyer _ Norman J. Strong for two years & Theron Hamilton & Stephen A. Ladow for three years.
