First Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Marshall
We the undersigned do certify that in pursuance of previous notice given according to the reqisitions [sic] of the Statute in such case made and provided a meeting of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the Town of Marshall, County of Calhoun and State of Michigan was holden at the usual place of worship of said Society on the 10th day of April 1837 to elect six Trustees for said Church and that the undersigned were duly appointed by the said meeting to preside at said elections. That as said election Ira Wood, Sidney Ketchum, Aizah C. Robinson, Solomon M. Allen, Horace P. Wisner & Randall Hobart were duly elected Trustees of said Church by a plurality of votes given under the name and style of the “First Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Marshall.”
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 13th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven.
